CNAs: Are You Bored?

Are you feeling bored? Well…did you know that July is National Anti-Boredom Month? It’s true! So, here are a couple of brainteasers to shake things up a little:
 
Look at this photo.  Which of the three men is tallest?
 
And what about this one:  Johnny's mother had four children. The first was April, the second was May, and the third was June. What was the name of her fourth child?
 
Have you got them figured out or do you give up? Keep reading for the answer.
 
And, here are some tips for helping you fight boredom at work:
 
  • Shake up your schedule. If you do the same things in the same way at the same time every day, you may be going through your work day on “autopilot”. And, that can lead to boredom. So, the next time you’re at work, try doing things a little differently—as possible, without affecting client care.
  • Kick your energy up a notch. Take some deep breaths and/or do a few jumping jacks to rev up your circulation and get some much needed oxygen to the brain. You’ll feel refreshed and ready to go!
  • Take on something new. Maybe you’re ready for a new challenge at work—whether that’s a new patient assignment, joining a committee or becoming a preceptor for new employees. Ask your supervisor what challenges might be available for you.
 
Oh…and the answer to the “brain teasers” above? The three men are all the exact same size.  (Don't believe me...get out your ruler!)  And Johnny is the fourth child!
